Patrons Scheme
Business Patrons
SportsAid Scotland has introduced a Patrons Scheme whereby businesses can make a vital contribution towards the furtherance of our essential work. Full details of being a Business Patron in each available category are as follows:
Bronze Patron
For a gross donation of £1,000 per year you will receive:
- Your business name and/or logo displayed on SAS’s website and promotional literature
- An invitation for 2 delegates to attend two regional receptions each year, at which to meet many of our young sporting stars and other like-minded business and individual Patrons
Silver Patron
For a gross donation of £2,500 per year you will receive:
- Your business name and/or logo displayed on SAS’s website and promotional literature
- An invitation for 4 delegates to attend at least two regional receptions each year, at which to meet many of our young sporting stars and other like-minded business and individual Patrons
- Places for 2 people (£10 admin fee each) at the Commonwealth Games ‘Sports Awards Dinner’, which is attended by a host of sporting personalities and takes place in Glasgow each November
Gold Patron
For a gross donation of £5,000 per year you will receive:
- Your business name and/or logo displayed on SAS’s website and promotional literature
- An invitation for 6 delegates to attend at least two regional receptions each year, at which to meet many of our young sporting stars and other like-minded business and individual Patrons
- Places for 4 people (£10 admin fee each) at the Commonwealth Games ‘Sports Awards Dinner’, which takes place in Glasgow each November
- An opportunity to sponsor, at additional cost, sporting grants to selected athletes, which can bear your business name and be accorded (if wished) appropriate promotional publicity in the media
Business Patrons Scheme donations can be offset against Corporation Tax as a business expense. Partnerships, however, are fully eligible for Gift Aid.

SportsAid’s patron, Her Royal Highness Princess of Wales is helping to shine a light on the achievements and potential of young athletes throughout the UK – inspiring a generation who one day hope to represent the nation at the Olympic or Paralympic Games. SportsAid alumnus Sir Chris Hoy welcomed the patronage by saying, “SportsAid played an important role when I was starting out so I know what a huge boost this will be to the young sportsmen and women the charity helps today. As patron Her Royal Highness Princess of Wales will give them the profile they deserve.”
